What do I need to register?

• A valid Indiana Driver’s License or Indiana State Identification Card.

• Be a citizen of the United States.

• Be at least 18 years old on or before the next general, municipal or special election. (A 17-year-old may register and vote in the primary election if the voter turns 18 on or before the next general or municipal election.)

• Have lived in your precinct for at least 30 DAYS before the next general, municipal, or special election.

• Not currently imprisoned after being convicted of a crime.

October 5, 2026:
Voter Registration closes for the 2026 General Election

October 6, 2026:
First day to vote absentee in-person for the 2026 General Election

October 22, 2026:
Deadline for absentee-by-mail applications to be received for the 2026 General Election

November 3, 2026:
General Election Day

REMEMBER!
Mail-in voter registration applications must be postmarked on or before the deadlines.
Online voter registration applications must be submitted on or before 11:59 pm deadline day.
Absentee by mail applications must be received no later than 11:59 PM deadline day.

Postmarked absentee applications received after the deadline cannot be processed.
